The main objective was to restore and conserve the original historic fabric of the house and to add a small sunroom at lower ground floor level to the rear.  The latter is intended to enhance the current connection between the kitchen/family areas and the well-maintained garden, and also to take advantage of the passive solar gain from the south facing façade. The ceiling slopes upward to the window frame and hides the junction of the window and the ceiling making the room feel very open to the sky and garden and free-up an otherwise small space.
