A terraced brick ‘two-up two-down’ artisan house was extended and remodelled to accommodate a new kitchen in a single storey extension, a bathroom inserted on the first floor and an attic bedroom dormer extension with a large window/desk taking advantage of views over an adjoining small public park. The stair well is designed as an insertion of teak panels and glass that isolate and screen the top bedroom but with an open spaciousness. The small linear kitchen has large double sliding doors which make the outdoor patio seem part of the interior. A small house feels a lot bigger.
